What's the symptom?

  • Try the reset button. It is usually a red button found on the bottom of the disposal or around the top. When pushed in, the disposal may start again.
  • When disposal is in the off position or unplugged, insert ¼" Allen Wrench at bottom of disposal and turn back & forth to free cutting blade
  • Instruct customer to put ½ slice lemon (remove seeds) down disposal & running cool water.
  • A tray of ice cubes ran through the disposal (without water) will also help eliminate odors.
Unplug disposal and check for silverware or other items jammed in disposal.
Could be disposal if cutting blade rusted or missing. Normally this is not a disposal problem, it is a plumbing problem.
