Disconnect drain hose. Blow into hose to clear obstruction or take it outside and use garden hose. If still leaking, blow/push wire backwards through plastic fitting to clear obstruction in evaporator drain pan.
Freon is odorless and colorless. It is illegal to knowingly vent freon into the air. A MINOR LEAK REPAIR is when leak can be found easily due to signs of oil, hearing the leak, or using fluorescent leak detector. (1 hour time or less)
A MAJOR LEAK REPAIR is a leak that is much harder to find due to size or location. (3-4 hours)
A heat pump will get a thin layer of frost over the coils. This is normal, and there is a defrost cycle. If the ice is over ¼" thick over the entire coil, then there may be a defrost problem. Shut down and call ServiceOne.
Check the breakers. If the temperature falls below the balance point set for the heat pump (usually 25 degrees), then the pump will not run and will go into backup heat.
There is an emergency heat position on the system switch on every heat pump thermostat, where they switch from heat to cool. If emergency heat does not work, see furnace repair.
